About >> 2007 Annual Gathering
On October 18, the Duke Forest held its 2007 Annual Gathering. Many members of the community and University attended to hear highlights of the teaching, research, and forest management activities over the past year. For the presentation given by Judson Edeburn, Duke Forest Resource Manager, please click here.
This year's event included a presentation by Lorna Wright, a Nicholas School Master of Environmental Management and Forestry candidate, on her invasive plant species research. We were also very fortunate to hear an update from Jane Korest, Durham County's Open Space and Real Estate Manager, on the implementation of the New Hope Corridor Open Space Master Plan. The evening ended with the presentation of the Clarence F. Korstian awards for exemplary support of the Forest to Durham Academy's Upper School Student Volunteer Program and Bobbie Reeves.
The Duke Forest would like to thank the speakers and all the friends of the Forest that made the night such a success! We hope to see everyone again next Fall for the 2008 Annual Gathering!
